Luke Gall

Play with FivE Euphonium Quartet

Luke Gall is an award-winning performer, freelancer, and entrepreneur with a wealth of experience as a teacher, soloist, and chamber musician. A native of Richmond, Virginia, Luke received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Penn State University where he studied euphonium under renowned tuba soloist and teacher, Velvet Brown.Luke has a wide-ranging background in the arts having performed with the 10-time DCI World Champions Cadets Drum Bugle Corps, 23-time DCI World Class Finalist Crossmen Drum and Bugle Corps, and World Class semi-finalist Jersey Surf Drum and Bugle Corps. As a member of the Cadets, he was a silver and bronze medalist at the DCI World Championship held in Pasadena, California and Indianapolis, Indiana. Luke also received the 2007 Rookie of the Year Award, performed at Barack Obama’s historical inauguration in 2008, and was a member of the Holy Name Cadets 75th anniversary corps in 2009.Luke’s greatest interest lies in the world of chamber music with his quartet, FivE. This eclectic group of euphoniums has quickly made a name for themselves by placing in MTNA and Fischoff, both international chamber music competitions. Luke is also active as a soloist, advancing to the national level of the MTNA National Brass Competition after winning both Pennsylvania state and Eastern division levels.As a composer, he finished as a runner-up in the Eastern division of the MTNA Young Artist National Composition Contest.Luke is now Graduate Teaching Assistant at The University of Texas at Austin where he teaches and assists with all Longhorn Bands and university ensembles while pursuing a Master’s Degree in Euphonium Performance. He also owns and operates My Design Team, Inc., a marching arts design and education Company based out of this hometown. This firm encompasses all of the work that he does as a teacher, guest director, composer, arranger, drill writer, program coordinator, and clinician with dozens of ensembles and Luke plays exclusively on a Besson Prestige 2052 euphonium.
