DOMENICO CIMA
He began his studies in the city band.
In 2017 he applied for the Euphonium and Tuba class at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory in Rome, under the guidance of Fabrizio Iacomini.
He achieved the Bachelor Degree with top marks in 2020 and the Master degree with a grade of 110/110 with honors in 2022.
While he was enrolled at the conservatory, he took part in numerous master classes with the famous euphonium players: Matteo Caramaschi, Luciano De Luca, Steven Mead, Bastien Baumet, and Mauro Martins.
He collaborates with the Italian Euphonium Academy of Luciano De Luca.
Since 2021 he has held the role of first Baritone at the Italian Brass Band, with which he performs as a soloist, under the direction of the maestros Filippo Cangiamila and Giuseppe Saggio.
He has won numerous competitions, including the 22nd edition of the Wings to Talent award in 2021 and the first prize, with a score of 100/100, at the 14th edition of the Crescendo Award in Florence.
In August 2024 he won the prestigious Jeju International Euphonium Competition.
He performed in several Italian and international theaters, in particular taking part in the Spring Music Festival at Jeju Island.
In May 2022 he was selected to participate in the European Youth Brass Band during the 44th European Brass Band Championship in Birmingham, under the direction of M° Florient Didier.
In August 2022 he recorded with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano the 7th Symphony by Gustav Mahler conducted by M° Claus Peter Flor, with the role of Soloist Tenorhorn.
In 2023 he won the competition for Baritone player at the Guardia di Finanza Band and the competition for Baritone player at the Italian Army Band, of which he has been a member since 2 October 2023 and with which he also performs as a soloist.
He plays an Euphonium Besson Prestige 2051 and a Baritone Besson Sovereign 955.
