HANS MARTIN PACHAS CAYULLA

International Soloist

Hans is a prominent Peruvian graduate euphonium player who is dedicated to the teaching as well as being a performer of the instrument worldwide. Nowadays is the leading euphonium professor at the National University of Music, the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru (PUCP) symphonic band coordinator and principal conductor, the teaching of The San Silvestre School brass students and the owner of Acaem, an important and prestigious music academy in Peru.

His career path began with Professor Juan Faustor Hurtado and Victor Manuel Delgado Torrejón. He was taught by them in order to achieve the admission at the most distinguished conservatory in Perú. Afterwards, he started his bachelor studies at the National University of Music, starting his euphonium studies with Professor Henry Sergei Maita Mallma and afterwards with Erikson Reyes Díaz.

In 2017 he was chosen to be the soloist in the symphonic band of the National University of Music in the Peruvian Artist Commemoration at the Peruvian Parliament aside from being awarded by the Santiago de Surco district due to his contribution to the art and music.

Over the years, he attended to numerous musical festivals in Peru and other countries. He had the opportunity to learn from the best professors such as Steven Mead (UK), Bastian Baumet (France), Rafael Méndez (Brazil), Adam Frey (USA), along with others.

He developed his career as a music teacher aside of being the conductor some of the most prestige school bands. Also, he was invited to music festivals by World Music at United States of America to show the best Peruvian music with “La Patronal”.

In 2019 he was invited to perform as a soloist in Colombia, at the “CATEDRA PERU” event organised by the “Universidad Católica del Oriente”. In addition, he was invited as a teacher at the euphonium masterclass at the “Instituto Superior de Acolla-Jauja”.

In 2020 he was invited as a teacher at the brass technique masterclass in Honduras at the “Atril Virtual Festival”, then he gave euphonium lessons at the “Trombón GT Festival” in Guatemala.

In 2021 he was the III International Band Conductors Meeting exhibitor and then he was invited at a music camp in Colombia.

In 2022 he was the exhibitor at the II National Band Teachers Meeting in Perú.

In 2023 he created the most important national euphonium festival in Peru and played as a soloist in its last two editions with artists such as Lucas Fernandez (Colombia) and Steven Mead (UK).
