Leanne Stamp

Adjunct Professor of Low Brass - University of San Diego

Leanne Stamp earned both her Bachelor’s (BM) and Master’s (MMUS) Degrees in Euphonium Performance at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Solo Performance (PGDIP) from the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music. Leanne’s primary teachers include Daniel Brown, Steven Mead, David Holben, Bruce Paulson and Dick McGee. While studying at the RNCM, she had the opportunity to perform with championship section brass bands in both concert and competition settings and was a founding member of the award-winning 4Corners euphonium quartet.

Leanne can be found performing in a variety of settings from solo and chamber recitals, various large ensembles such as the Nevada Pops or Las Vegas Brass Band, to featured guest solo appearances. With a passion for chamber music, Leanne’s most recent project is the formation of a euphonium duo with fellow euphonium soloist, Jason Gilliam. The pair hopes to bring the beauty of euphonium to new audiences through this chamber music setting. Leanne has performed at regional and international conferences and festivals, as both a soloist and chamber musician. Her playing has taken her across the United States as well as Europe.

As a strong proponent of music education, Leanne serves as a brass clinician and adjudicator for many organizations on a district, regional, and state level and is a sought-after performer and clinician in the southwest area. She worked as a music specialist in the Clark County School District, one of the largest in the nation, and volunteered as a youth band instructor with the Salvation Army Citadel Youth Band in Las Vegas for over six years. As a private instructor, Leanne maintains a large private studio and continuously works with students of all ages and abilities in the San Diego and Las Vegas areas. Most recently, Leanne moved to the Southern California area where she holds the position of Adjunct Professor of Applied Low Brass at the University of San Diego. Leanne is a Besson artist and plays exclusively on a Besson Prestige 2052.
